Design Engineer - Civil

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil design for substation or utility infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC.

Knowledge & Skills: 

• Strong understanding of civil and structural design principles, especially for substation infrastructure, with proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, and Civil 3D.  
• Familiarity with UAE utility standards (DEWA, TRANSCO, etc.) and international codes (ACI, BS).  
• Capable of coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and resolving design issues during construction.  
• Excellent analytical, communication, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English. Communication skills in Arabic will be an added advantage. 

Prepare and review design drawings, calculation reports, and technical documentation in accordance with prevalent standards.

Conduct structural analysis, load calculations, and prepare material take-offs (MTOs).

Coordinate closely with electrical, mechanical, and structural disciplines to ensure integrated and clash-free designs.

Ensure compliance with international standards (BS, ACI, IEC) and local UAE regulations.

Review and incorporate feedback from clients, consultants, and authorities into design revisions.

Provide technical support to site teams during the construction phase, including resolving design-related issues and reviewing contractor submittals.

Participate in design review meetings and contribute to value engineering and constructability assessments.

Maintain accurate design records, calculation packages, and project documentation as per quality standards.
